In this experiment you will show the decomposition of the chemical hydrogen peroxide using sodium iodide to produce oxygen, water vapor, and an abundance of heat. This dramatic, large-scale demo illustrates concepts of catalysts, decomposition reactions, and exothermic reactions.

1 x 350mL Hydrogen Peroxide, 30%
7 x 4g Sodium Iodide
